The Central Illinois Pain Center is a partnership with the Associated Anesthesiologists, S.C. that provides an interdisciplinary approach to the management of acute and chronic pain. The Center is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of professionals who are specialists in pain management.

Pain Management is available for conditions such as:

  • Chronic lower back pain
  • Herpes Zoster (shingles)
  • Joint Pain
  • Post-surgical abdominal, pelvic and groin pain
  • Myofascial pain syndrome
  • Neuropathic pain
  • Chronic cervical pain
  • Fibromyalgia

  • Work and sport-related pain

Entry into the Pain Center begins with a referral from a patient's primary care doctor, specialist, surgeon or chiropractor. Treatment options include injection therapy or comprehensive day treatment services.

Evaluation of the patient begins with a comprehensive assessment and medical evaluation. After this assessment, a recommendation for a pain management program is made to the patient and referring physician based on the individual's needs and admission criteria. The program may consist of specific invasive procedures, a comprehensive day treatment program, or a combination of each program.

  • Epidural sympathetic blocks
  • Trigger point injections
  • Nerve blocks by injection
  • Implantable therapies
  • Radiofrequency lesioning
