ADULT Volunteer
OSF Saint Francis Medical Center ADULT volunteers are…
…people who want to help others
…are different ages and from different backgrounds
…dedicated individuals who bring a personal touch helping comfort our patients and visitors directly or indirectly
…committed to volunteer a 4 to 6 hour shift/week for a minimum of 6 months after orientation

Opportunities for ADULT volunteers…
Ambassadors with direct and indirect patient contact: visiting with patients, ensuring that their needs are being met, assisting with diversional activities for patients, playing games with children, supply distribution, and clerical and phone support
Classroom: providing tutoring support to our patients in the Children’s Hospital of Illinois
Clerical: providing support with answering of phones, database entry, filing, project work, reminder phone calls
Concierge: welcoming the patient and their family or visitors to the medical center, escorting patients and families
Flower and Mail Room: delivering flowers, mail, eCards and other deliveries to our patients
Qualifications and requirements for ADULT volunteers …
…have a listening ear and loving, caring heart
…have a desire to serve others
…are in good physical and mental health
…are willing to make a time commitment
…can abide by the policies and regulations of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and Volunteer Services Department
...minimum age of 18
…high school graduate or GED
…committed to volunteer a 4 to 6 hour shift/week for a minimum of 6 months after orientation
